Inside Fmaps

The parts that do the thinking.

Three ideas that change how the numbers feel: a forecast from real patterns, budgets that track themselves, and statements you can hand to anyone.

Forecast

Know what the month will actually cost.

Fmaps recognises repeating payments by description and category — even when a payslip is labelled differently every time — and shows the regular income, regular spending and the saving in between.

  • ✓ Weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and yearly rhythms
  • ✓ Pick any timeframe; the whole page follows it
  • ✓ Utilities and transport totalled separately
Budgets

Budgets that keep up with you.

Each category shows what is spent against its limit, the money left, and a clear status. Quarterly and yearly budgets are shown as their monthly share, so the picture is always fair.

  • ✓ Monthly progress above your budget list
  • ✓ Watch, over-budget and on-track states
  • ✓ Spending without a budget surfaced for you
Statements

Statements that look like they came from an accountant.

Balance sheet, cash flow and income statement, built from your own accounts and transactions, following the fiscal year of your currency. Download a branded PDF whenever you need one.

  • ✓ Fiscal year follows your primary currency
  • ✓ Watermarked, branded PDF downloads
  • ✓ Assets, liabilities and net position explained

How it works

Set up in an afternoon. Useful from the first month.

Add your accounts

Bank, savings, credit and investment accounts, in Australian dollars or Chinese yuan.

Record your spending and income

A few transactions is enough — categories and dates are all Fmaps needs to start analysing.

Watch the picture form

Net worth, budgets, repeating payments and a forecast of the months ahead, all from the same data.

Your data

Your records, handled like records.

Fmaps holds the numbers you would not put in a spreadsheet attached to an email, so the handling is stated plainly.

No bank login, ever

Fmaps never asks for your internet-banking credentials. Everything it knows is what you type or import.

Encrypted in transit

Served over HTTPS, passwords stored salted and hashed, and sign-in is rate limited against guessing.

Yours to take

Download everything as JSON — and restore it later — or close the account at any time. No lock-in.

FAQ

The things people ask before signing up.

What is Fmaps?

Fmaps is an Australian personal-finance web app. It brings your accounts, spending, budgets, goals and financial statements into one place, and forecasts the months ahead from the payments that actually repeat.

How does the forecast work?

Fmaps looks for the payments that repeat in your history — rent, subscriptions, salary, loan repayments — and projects them forward, so the forecast reflects your actual commitments rather than an average.

Does Fmaps handle more than one currency?

Yes. You choose a primary and a secondary currency, and Fmaps converts between them using daily exchange rates.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. You can download everything Fmaps holds about your account as a JSON file at any time, and restore it later.

Is Fmaps free to use?

Yes. You can create an account and use the dashboard, budgets, goals and forecast without a paid plan.

Do I need to connect my bank account?

No. Fmaps never asks for internet-banking credentials; you enter transactions manually or import your own data.

Is my financial data secure?

Fmaps is served over HTTPS, stores passwords salted and hashed, and has no access to your bank login.

Can I close my account?

Yes. You can archive your account from Settings, export your data as JSON, and request reactivation later.

Does Fmaps provide financial advice?

No. Fmaps is a record-keeping and planning tool, not financial, investment or tax advice. Consider a licensed adviser for personal advice.

Your money, finally in one place.

Create an account and add your first bank account in under two minutes. No spreadsheets, no manual maths, no surprises at the end of the month.
